Course Content

Learners will develop an in-depth understanding of the role and function of management, and the processes applied in operating environments to ensure business success.

Candidates will recognise the importance of strategic planning for long term business success, and to identify the steps in the strategic planning process including analysis of operating environments.

Successful completion of this micro-credential will enable a learner to:

Analyse management theories and illustrate how they can be applied in real-world situations.

Evaluate the effectiveness of commonly used organisational structures in a New Zealand environment.

Examine and describe the management role, function and managerial skills needed within a business.

Describe the strategic planning process and evaluate the different analytical tools that can assist in plan formulation.

Critically evaluate a strategic plan and ascertain its suitability for achieving business objectives.

Entry Requirements

  • Relevant work experience 
  • Meet the required level of English (IELTS 5.5) or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills

Cost

  • Domestic Students $960 including GST (NZ citizens, including students from Tokelau, the Cook Islands and Niue. NZ residents, Australian Citizens)
  • International Students $1920 including GST

Learner Requirements

Learners will need time to complete their online learning. Because this is online it is flexible to suit the needs of the business. They can complete this full-time, part-time or whenever they have time.

Everyone who takes part in these online Micro-credentials will need to have access to a computer or laptop and working internet.
