Claire Huxley
Chief Executive for Study From Work – Claire is the owner of ITC’s Study From Work, originally from the UK she has a background in international tourism, starting in reservations for Europe’s largest tour operator. Several years experience working in retail travel in a managerial role Claire developed her skills in marketing. This resulted in her working for the UK’s largest direct marketing organisation, where she worked with the travel and tourism industry to develop cohesive marketing strategies.
In 2002, Claire and her husband emigrated to New Zealand and she joined ITC as the Marketing Manager. She has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Caribbean, New Zealand and Australia. She still has a passion for the travel and tourism industry and loves to travel (and talk about it!).
Claire has been a shareholder since 2010 & CEO since 2018. With a wealth of experience as a mentor and coach. Previously Claire was the deputy chair of QTI for over 5 years.

Claire has worked tirelessly to ensure that the sector works well for all our learners and industries and has focused on the benefits that collaboration brings. Claire often meets with key government agencies & politicians as a contribution from the private tertiary education sector. This is via most agencies, NZQA, TEC, INC, ENZ, MOE, MBIE and others. We feedback on the learner experience and help to make change in our education sector so that our learners get the very best during their qualifications.
In the wise word of Claire Huxley, “resilience is about learning from what you have been through and don’t forget you’ve come this far, you can do so much more. Focus on progress not perfection”.
Irena Wysoczanski
Academic & Quality Manager for Study From Work – Irena’s journey began in tourism and travel when she joined Air New Zealand as a Flight Attendant in 1974. She flew for 25 years, both with the International and Domestic airlines.
When it was time to “clip her wings”, Irena stepped into managerial roles within the airline to pursue her interest in training and development. She eventually accepted a position as Training Manager Air New Zealand Domestic, International & London Base.
Irena had many opportunities to develop newfound skills – writing new and updating old training programmes for new intake training, and various ‘upskilling’ courses for current crew.

Her role included regulatory as well as customer service, so her tasks were varied, and she had many opportunities to travel to various educational conferences and conventions. Irena also delivered Level 2 & 3 Cabin Crew Management papers for Massey University when the degree was offered in Albany.
Irena had a fantastic career in the airline, so when her manager told her she was seeking approval to add a Travel & Tourism Course to their PTE – School of Engineering – she was keen to join her in setting up and delivering the programme. Again, she tutored and wrote courses, and even had the opportunity to take on outside contracts such as Service IQ’s customer service programme, ‘KioOraMai’, and one in Mauritius delivering a leadership programme for their airline’s Senior Flight Attendants!
When the Airline’s strategic goals changed, the PTE-School of Service was closed in 2016, Irena knew she wanted to stay in an educational environment. Her application to ITC was accepted and she has continued to develop skills in the academic, quality and development fields.
As Irena says, the Micro-Credentials have been a wonderful addition to ITC’s programmes – they provide the learner with knowledge and skills not only for the benefit of their employer, but will also deliver a fresh perspective into their own roles.
Andrew Houston
Campus Manager for Study From Work – Andrew grew up with a love of travel that he followed into studying a Bachelor of Business at AUT. After having the opportunity to travel extensively and work overseas in the UK, he returned to Aotearoa to work for Air New Zealand.
Over the next 13 years he gained experience working in a variety of roles, before moving on to take up opportunities with Aviation Security and Flight Centre.
“In all of my different roles, I noticed that the task I enjoyed most was training and coaching work colleagues to improve their own skills and abilities” he said.
This led him to join ITC as a tutor in 2016. Since that time, he has been delivering the full range of courses and mentoring students. Over time he progressed in to management as a tutorial team leader and is now our Campus manager.

Andrew is constantly seeking to develop new and exciting opportunities for our learners. “I feel so lucky to be able to be a part of our learners personal and professional development journey, I’m a firm believer in the adage that education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” Andrew has extensive experience in the design and delivery of our online platform. This means the Micro-credentials that we offer with Study From Work have been created specifically to benefit the overall learner experience.
These courses are available online for any professionals to take in their own time, from the comfort of their own home or in the workplace. The courses are comprised of a combination of video lessons, exercises, tests, and activities, making learning interesting and interactive, rather than a basic read-and-answer format. This is all thanks to the wonderful work Irena and Andrew have put into this platform.
Ceri Jenkins
Key Stakeholder Manager for Study From Work – Ceri Jenkins joined the team in August 2007. He has a wealth of sales experience, expertise, and knowledge of the Travel & Tourism Industry and Education Sector. He came to this role from Stray where he was responsible for and successful in sales growth, agency partnerships and training.
His key tasks are to maximise sales and growth of ITC services and products and to market and enhance the College profile within secondary schools and industry networks.
“I joined ITC and within my first week, we were winning awards!” said Ceri. “I have already made lots of contacts within the industry, who are keen to work with us. The response to date from a variety of sectors of the industry has been overwhelming, there is obviously a real desire to engage with premier educators such as Study From Work. Increased engagement will only enhance learner employment options when they improve their career through further education” he said.
